<p>WCS-IP is seeking a <strong>Finance Assistant</strong> to oversee the financial management of a portfolio of projects based in Sumatra. The position will be based in Bogor or Medan.</p>
<p><strong>DUTIES</strong><br />
The Finance Assistant will:<span id="more-520"></span></p>
<ul>
<li> Manage the day-to-day financial operation of a portfolio of conservation projects in accordance with WCS-IP financial practice and under the supervision of the WCS-IP Finance Manager.</li>
<li> Verify and review project finance reports and budgets, and notify the results to the Finance Manager.</li>
<li> Work with relevant project managers and partner organizations to efficiently administer and report project finances to the WCS-IP Finance Manager.</li>
<li> Develop and implement standard practices and formats for financial management and reporting for use by sub-contracted project partners.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br />
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li> Fresh graduate of D3 in Accounting with IPK minimum 3.00.</li>
<li> Understand standard accrual-based financial management.</li>
<li> Knowledge of standard accounting software is highly desirable.</li>
<li> Excellent communications skills in Indonesian and ideally also in English.</li>
<li> Excellent time management skills and an ability to work without supervision and to tight deadlines..</li>
<li> Concern for wildlife conservation &amp; environmental issues essential.</li>
<li> Good interpersonal skill with an impeccable record of honesty and probity.</li>

<p>WCS-IP is seeking a <strong>Finance and Grant Officer</strong> to oversee the financial management of a large project based in Sumatra. The position can be based in Bogor or Medan and will require frequent travel within Sumatra.</p>
<p><strong>DUTIES</strong><br />
The Finance and Grant Officer will:<span id="more-519"></span></p>
<ul>
<li> Manage the day-to-day financial operation of the PNPM project in accordance with WCS-IP financial practice and under the supervision of the WCS-IP Finance Manager.</li>
<li> Work with relevant project managers and partner organizations Sumatra to efficiently administer and report project finances to the WCS-IP Finance Manager.</li>
<li> To develop and implement standard practices and formats for financial management and reporting for use by sub-contracted project partners.</li>
<li> To assist and provide training to staff, project managers and sub-contracted partners in financial management and reporting.</li>
<li> To oversee all procurement by the project (Goods and Services) in accordance with WCS procurement practice and donor regulations.</li>
<li> To ensure the highest possible level of financial probity in all aspects of project, procurement, sub-contract and sub-grant management.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br />
A successful candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li> S1 in accounting.</li>
<li> At least 5 years work experience in accounting/financial auditing/financial management.</li>
<li> A full understanding of standard accrual-based financial management.</li>
<li> A knowledge of standard accounting software, in particular, experience of SUN system accounting software is highly desirable.</li>
<li> Sound knowledge of employment and contract law highly desirable.</li>
<li> Experience of working in the non-profit or NGO sector highly desirable.</li>
<li> Experience of providing training in financial management desirable.</li>
<li> Excellent communications skills in Indonesian and English.</li>
<li> Excellent management skills, demonstrating strong leadership and initiative.</li>
<li> Experience of complex donor reporting requirements (for example World Bank, USAID).</li>
<li> Concern for wildlife conservation &amp; environmental issues essential.</li>
<li> An ability to work unsupervised and to tight deadlines.</li>
<li> An impeccable record of honesty and probity. WCS operates a zero-tolerance anti-corruption policy. Corrupt practice may result in summary dismissal and/or civil/criminal prosecution.</li>

<p>WCS-IP is seeking a <strong>Communications Manager</strong> to oversee the development and implementation of a new long-term communications strategy. The position will be based in Bogor.</p>
<p>DUTIES<br />
The Communications Manager will:<span id="more-518"></span></p>
<ul>
<li> Prepare and implement of a media strategy to cultivation relationship with mass media.</li>
<li> Serving as gatekeeper for material being posted to the website from the program and development department.</li>
<li>Overseeing the creative of all printed materials for the organization program.</li>
<li> Develop staff to be the effective communicators regarding with facing public audiences.</li>
<li> Development and implement communications plan for government, donors, society, and company and arranging good relationship with them.</li>
</ul>
<p>QUALIFICATIONS<br />
A successful candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications:</p>

<li> Minimum S1 degree.</li>
<li> Strongly self-motivated and creative, be able to produce ideas for reaching wide and varied audiences.</li>

in over 60 countries to save wildlife. The goal of the Wildlife Conservation Society – Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) is to conserve Indonesia’s wildlife populations and their habitats.</p>
<p>WCS-IP is seeking <strong>two Project Managers</strong> to oversee the implementation and development of two large, long-term projects in Sumatra. One position will be based in North Sumatra or Aceh working for the ‘Green PNPM’ Project and the other will be based in Bengkulu working for the ‘Carbon and Climate Change Project’.</p>
<p><strong>DUTIES</strong></p>
<p>1. The Project Manager for Green PNPM Project will:<span id="more-517"></span></p>
<ul>
<li> Lead the implementation of the WCS Green PNPM project within the province of Aceh, based jointly between Bandar Aceh and Medan. Operating under the supervision of the WCS Green PNPM Coordinator.</li>
<li> Develop and maintain good relationships and coordination with government counterparts to the Green PNPM project at Provincial, Kabupaten and Kecamatan levels.</li>
<li> Ensure that WCS activities within the PNPM project are implemented in line with the existing PNPM cycle, and coordinated with project activities in other provinces of Sumatra.</li>
<li> Identify, utilize and manage local NGO partners as part of the project implementation. Manage and supervise local NGO sub-grants at the kabupaten levels, under coordination with Program Coordinator.</li>
<li> Supervise project staff and budgets allocated to the project. .</li>
<li> Contribute to the overall development and implementation of the Green PNPM project and to WCS’s objectives in Indonesia.</li>
</ul>
<p>2. The Project Manager for Carbon and Climate Change Project will:</p>
<ul>
<li> Support the development of a long-term approach to forest management at the regional level based on sound management of existing forests and the creation of new forestry and agro-forestry schemes.</li>
<li> Establish excellent working relationships with local government, forestry department, universities, local NGOs and other stakeholders. Work with these stakeholders to identify innovative solutions to current and emerging threats to biodiversity in the region.</li>
<li> Identify, utilize and manage local NGO partners as part of the project implementation. Manage and supervise local NGO sub-grants.</li>
<li> Supervise project staff and budgets allocated to the project. .</li>
<li> Contribute to the overall development and implementation of the Carbon and Climate Change Project and to WCS’s objectives in Indonesia.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br />
The successful candidates for both positions will demonstrate the following qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li> At least five years successful experience of project management in the conservation, forestry or development sector.</li>
<li>Excellent leadership skills and a proven ability to work unsupervised and to demonstrate initiative and decision making skills.</li>
<li>Proven experience of personnel and budget management.</li>
<li>Strong and confident negotiating skills, and demonstrated experience of liaising with a range of stakeholders, including local government.</li>
<li>Experience of working with multilateral, bilateral and corporate donors is highly desirable..</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal skills and sensitivity to an advisory role in dealing with partner organizations.</li>
<li>Proven ability to motivate and lead others to achievement.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in Indonesian and English.\</li>
<li>Willingness to travel frequently and on short notice, often to remote areas.</li>
<li>Familiar with MS Office and other supporting computer programs.</li>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to conservation and the goals of WCS.</li>
</ul>
<p>In addition:</p>
<p>The Project Manager for Green PNPM Project will demonstrate the following qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li> A proven track record of working with local NGOs</li>
<li> A basic understanding of sub-granting and sub-contracting arrangements</li>
<li> A knowledge of rural development and natural resource management issues and initiatives in Indonesia.</li>
<li> An understanding of natural resource management and rural development issues prevailing in Aceh.</li>
</ul>
<p>The Project Manager for Carbon and Climate Change Project will demonstrate the following qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li> An understanding of forest governance and forest governance law in Indonesia</li>
<li>A knowledge of commercial forestry practice, including sustainable forest management and agro-forestry.</li>
<li> Knowledge of business management and law, and/or public sector finance is highly desirable.</li>
<li> A basic understanding of carbon markets would be beneficial.</li>
<li> An entrepreneurial spirit!</li>
</ul>
