The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), founded in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society, works
in over 60 countries to save wildlife. The goal of the Wildlife Conservation Society – Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) is to conserve Indonesia’s wildlife populations and their habitats.
WCS-IP is seeking a Communications Manager to oversee the development and implementation of a new long-term communications strategy. The position will be based in Bogor.
DUTIES
The Communications Manager will:
- Prepare and implement of a media strategy to cultivation relationship with mass media.
- Serving as gatekeeper for material being posted to the website from the program and development department.
- Overseeing the creative of all printed materials for the organization program.
- Develop staff to be the effective communicators regarding with facing public audiences.
- Development and implement communications plan for government, donors, society, and company and arranging good relationship with them.
QUALIFICATIONS
A successful candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Minimum S1 degree.
- Strongly self-motivated and creative, be able to produce ideas for reaching wide and varied audiences.
- Have networks and good relationships with contacts including journalists, government, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Have concern for wildlife and wild land conservation and environment issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Indonesia.
- Experience in working on public relationship/marketing to promote organization mission, vision, and programs.
- Experience working with/for the mass-media.
- An ability to work unsupervised and to tight deadlines.
