The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), founded in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society, works
in over 60 countries to save wildlife. The goal of the Wildlife Conservation Society – Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) is to conserve Indonesia’s wildlife populations and their habitats.
WCS-IP is seeking a Finance Assistant to oversee the financial management of a portfolio of projects based in Sumatra. The position will be based in Bogor or Medan.
DUTIES
The Finance Assistant will:
- Manage the day-to-day financial operation of a portfolio of conservation projects in accordance with WCS-IP financial practice and under the supervision of the WCS-IP Finance Manager.
- Verify and review project finance reports and budgets, and notify the results to the Finance Manager.
- Work with relevant project managers and partner organizations to efficiently administer and report project finances to the WCS-IP Finance Manager.
- Develop and implement standard practices and formats for financial management and reporting for use by sub-contracted project partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Fresh graduate of D3 in Accounting with IPK minimum 3.00.
- Understand standard accrual-based financial management.
- Knowledge of standard accounting software is highly desirable.
- Excellent communications skills in Indonesian and ideally also in English.
- Excellent time management skills and an ability to work without supervision and to tight deadlines..
- Concern for wildlife conservation & environmental issues essential.
- Good interpersonal skill with an impeccable record of honesty and probity.
