Finance assistant

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), founded in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society, works
in over 60 countries to save wildlife. The goal of the Wildlife Conservation Society – Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) is to conserve Indonesia’s wildlife populations and their habitats.

WCS-IP is seeking a Finance Assistant to oversee the financial management of a portfolio of projects based in Sumatra. The position will be based in Bogor or Medan.

DUTIES
The Finance Assistant will:

  • Manage the day-to-day financial operation of a portfolio of conservation projects in accordance with WCS-IP financial practice and under the supervision of the WCS-IP Finance Manager.
  • Verify and review project finance reports and budgets, and notify the results to the Finance Manager.
  • Work with relevant project managers and partner organizations to efficiently administer and report project finances to the WCS-IP Finance Manager.
  • Develop and implement standard practices and formats for financial management and reporting for use by sub-contracted project partners.

QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Fresh graduate of D3 in Accounting with IPK minimum 3.00.
  • Understand standard accrual-based financial management.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communications skills in Indonesian and ideally also in English.
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to work without supervision and to tight deadlines..
  • Concern for wildlife conservation & environmental issues essential.
  • Good interpersonal skill with an impeccable record of honesty and probity.
